While pursuing the Rhinos, watch for the striking white-crested Turaco, a delightful bird species frequently spotted within this sanctuary. After the remarkable Rhino-tracking encounter, a delectable lunch interlude awaits us before we transition to our lodgings for an unforgettable overnight stay.

After an early breakfast at your hotel, your bird guide will pick you and you will start your birding journey with stops in key areas along the way. Our first major stopover will be at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which is an excellent birding area and home to Rhinos in Uganda. After a briefing from the ranger guide, you will start the Rhino trek. This may require a short drive before the trek, depending on where the Rhinos are located at the moment. The Rhino trek can take about 1 hour, from walking and sighting them as they nap or feed.

We hope to see some birds even as we track Rhinos; look out for the white-crested Turaco often seen here. After the Rhino trekking experience, we will leave for lunch before proceeding to our lodge for an overnight.

As we navigate the lake, keep your binoculars ready for an opportunity to spot a plethora of other avian treasures in this park. Look out for the vibrant Red-winged Francolin, the charming Blue-spotted Wood Dove, the melodious Brown Parrot, the distinctive bare-faced go-away bird, elusive Blue Quails, and the striking White-headed and Black-billed Barbets.

The boat ride also promises sightings of the Greenwood Hoopoe, the Blue-breasted and Shining-blue Kingfishers, the Lilac-breasted Roller, the African Grey Hornbill, and the diligent Grey Woodpeckers.
