Your 9-day safari will begin in Nairobi and end in Kigali. During the safari, you will visit Nakuru National Park, known for its flamingos. The park is also home to approximately 400 other bird species. You will then travel to Masai Mara, famous for the big five, and witness vast herds of wildebeests and zebras during the annual wildebeest migration. This migration occurs when millions of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles cross the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich new grass from Serengeti.

In western Uganda, you will visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which has over 340 mountain gorillas, making up half of the mountain gorillas remaining in the world. Finally, the safari will take you to Kabale, the home of Uganda's most beautiful lake, Lake Bunyonyi. The area is called "the Switzerland of Africa" due to its beautiful scenery and terraced verdant hills.

Day 1: Arrival at the airport and transfer to Four Points by Sheraton:

Our representative at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport will meet you upon your arrival. They will introduce you to your friendly and professional guide, who will briefly take you through the trip plan. Afterwards, your guide will transfer you to Four Points by Sheraton for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park:

You'll start your day with a delicious breakfast at the hotel before being picked up and taken to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is known for its flamingos and has around 400 other bird species. Additionally, you can spot many different kinds of animals here, such as Rothschild's giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon, and several species of plain game.

When you arrive at the park, you'll check into the lodge, have lunch, and then go on a game-viewing ride. During this ride, you can see some of Kenya's exceptional bird life on the stunning lakes of the Rift Valley. Watch for other animals grazing along the shoreline, including some of Africa's famous animals.

Lake Nakuru is famous for being home to the world's greatest bird spectacle, where over a million pink flamingos often flock to feed on its shallow waters.

Day 3: Transfer to Masai Mara for an evening game drive:

After having an early morning breakfast, you will be picked up from the lodge and taken to Masai Mara with a stopover at the Rift Valley. Upon arrival, you will have lunch and prepare for an evening game drive in Mara, famous for its big five animals. During the drive, you will search for black-maned lions, cheetahs, and leopards as you cross the plains. A picnic lunch will be served at the Mara site. You will also have the opportunity to see vast herds of wildebeest and zebras that wander across the Mara grasslands in huge numbers during the annual migrations. During this period, millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles traverse the Mara plains landscape to feed on the rich grass from the Serengeti. Additionally, you can also have a chance to see plain games like Topi, Heartbeast, and Eland.

Day 4: Morning games drive and visit the Masai village:

Begin your day early with a delicious breakfast at the lodge before embarking on a morning game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Kenya’s most renowned wildlife parks. During this adventure-filled game drive, keep an eye out for the famous Big Five as well as other diverse wildlife species that call this expansive Kenyan game reserve home. If the weather is clear, you may be lucky enough to witness a breathtaking orange-tinted sunset that is definitely worth capturing on camera.

After the game drive, return to the lodge for a refreshing lunch before embarking on a tour of a local Masai village. This cultural tour provides an opportunity to observe and learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Masai people, including their weaponry, dances, economic activities, weddings, and daily lives. You will get to visit one of the Masai homesteads, where you will witness how they light their fires without matches and use traditional archery during times of conflict. You will also be taught how to perform their unique jumping dance, which involves seemingly gravity-defying jumps.

Finally, return to the lodge for a well-deserved overnight stay.

Day 5: Balloon safari and then shift to Nairobi for a flight to Kigali:

Start your day early with a delicious breakfast and embark on an exciting hot air balloon safari that offers breathtaking balloon flights above Kenya’s famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The adventure usually starts just before dawn, giving you the opportunity to witness the wildlife from an entirely different perspective. As you float above the plains, the serene stillness and silence is an experience you will cherish forever. The flight lasts approximately an hour, allowing you to drift and follow the air currents wherever they take you. Capture stunning photos and videos as you enjoy a champagne breakfast cooked at the landing site.

After the balloon safari, you can unwind and enjoy lunch at the lodge. Then, you will be transferred from Masai Mara to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight to Kigali.

Day 6: Kigali city tour and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park:

After enjoying an early breakfast at the lodge, you will check in and transfer to Kigali for a city tour before continuing to Bwindi. During the tour, you can visit the presidential museum, which used to be the residence of two former presidents of Rwanda. As we drive through the older commercial and residential areas of the city, we will make a significant stop at the genocide memorial site.

After the city tour, we will have lunch and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the magnificent mountain gorillas. The safari will continue westwards, heading towards Bwindi and the Kigezi kingdom, renowned for its heavyweight boxers! Upon arrival at the park, we will check in for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi:

Today is exciting as you will meet the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park! After a delicious breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the lodge and take you for a briefing. You will then embark on a trek through the mist forest, witnessing gentle giants and other wildlife species, such as buffaloes, elephants, monkeys, butterflies and bird species. You are permitted only one hour with the gorillas, and it may take a few hours or the entire day to locate them, depending on where they spent the previous night.

After this once-in-a-lifetime experience, you will enjoy a well-deserved lunch before driving to Kabale, known as the “Switzerland of Africa”. You will check into your lodge and take in the breathtaking views of Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 8: Boat Cruise on Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Kigali:

After having breakfast, you will enjoy a leisurely boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to visit the numerous islands and observe various species of birds. Later, you will return to the lodge for lunch, and then you will be transferred from Lake Bunyonyi to Kigali.
