Upon your arrival at the airport, our guide will warmly welcome you, provide a brief orientation, and transfer you to your hotel in Kigali town.
Start your day with a visit to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial after breakfast. Later, continue your journey towards Nyungwe Forest with a stopover in Butare town, where you can visit the National Museum and enjoy a delicious lunch at the Ibis restaurant. While en route to Nyungwe, stop at the Murambi Genocide site.
Start your day with an early breakfast and head to Nyungwe for chimpanzee trekking. This will provide you with an unforgettable experience of the forest life. Return in the afternoon for lunch and take some time to relax before you head back out to explore the forest and its large troops of black and white colobus monkeys.
After breakfast transfer to Kinigi near Volcanoes National Park – home of gorillas.
Lunch at Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu.
We will set off for gorilla tracking in Volcanoes National Park in the early morning. Trekking through the light mountain forest of the Virunga is a wonderful and unforgettable experience. However, some gorilla families can be elusive, and tracking them can take a full day, especially when the weather is wet and muddy. In the afternoon, we will visit the Iby’iwachu Cultural Village.
We will start the day with an early breakfast before embarking on a hike to the Dian Fossey graveyard located at the Karisoke Research Center. Dian spent nearly two decades studying the Mountain Gorillas in this area. The trek to the site will take us through stunning bamboo forests and afro-montane habitats, with crisscrossing trails and tracks of forest buffalo and elephants. Along the way, we can expect to see various wildlife species as we go up and down to the graves nestled between the breathtaking volcanic peaks of Karismbi and Visoke.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
We will depart for Akagera National Park and stop for lunch in Kigali on the way.
Dinner and overnight at Akagera Safari Lodge.
Start your day off right with a cup of coffee and an early morning game drive, where you'll have the chance to spot majestic wildlife such as elephants, zebras, black rhinos, giraffes, lions, and leopards. After the drive, head back to the lodge for relaxation and a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat ride along Lake Ihema and observe the incredible wildlife that calls it home, including massive crocodiles, hippos, and over 450 species of birds.
Enjoy a morning boat ride on Crater Lake and enjoy Rwanda's fresh breeze. Later, go on an evening game drive to observe animals returning to their habitats.
At the end of your safari, you can leave for Kigali. If you have time, you can take a city tour to visit local markets and genocide memorial sites before transferring to the airport. Please note that this package can be customised to replace Nyungwe with Kibale Forest National Park, which offers clear and excellent visibility of chimpanzees. Additionally, Queen Elizabeth National Park can also be included. This customisation does not affect the price of the package.
