Sipi Falls

Located in Eastern Uganda, the Sipi Falls are amazingly the most scenic waterfalls and a natural wonder in the pearl of Africa. They are considered the most romantic places in Uganda, featuring a series of 3 stunning waterfalls, with the longest dropping at 100 meters, the second waterfall dropping 65 meters below, and the 3rd waterfall dropping 85 meters.

The triple waterfalls are known for their vigorous flow, creating mist and mini rainbows when the sun is hot. The Sipi Falls attract most visitors, especially couples who want to spend quality time together in the area. These waterfalls have their source on the Mount Elgon slopes.

Sipi is derived from the “Sep” plant that grows around the River Sipi banks. The plant is green and red, strikingly resembling wild bananas. It is a medicinal plant often used by locals for treating fever and measles. Other than Sipi Falls, there are some less popular waterfalls, including Wanale, Sisiyi, Bulago and Chebonet.

The Sipi Falls are spectacular waterfalls in Kapchorwa, Eastern Uganda, northeast Mbale, and Sironko District. They are lying at the edge of Mount Elgon National Park adjacent to the Kenyan border.
